The real thing! These are not reproductions. These are genuine, brand new, unissued, Vietnam-era (circa 1969) US Military combat shirts, as worn by US soliders in the jungles of Vietnam! Made from 100% rip-stop cotton and features two slanted "easy access" upper pockets, two lower gear pockets, and adjustable cuffs to allow the sleeves to be rolled up. Double button pockets are pleated and bellowed to hold lots of gear, and feature drain holes to allow water to drain out. If you served in Vietnam, these shirts will seem like an old friend; if not, put one of these on and experience the "real thing." We were fortunate enough to locate a supply of these genuine Vietnam-era shirts, but our quantity is strictly limited. Once they're gone, they're gone! A great item for veterans or collectors. OD green. Made in the USA.

Vietnam R&R T-Shirt

A Brief History: The "R & R Jacket" (R & R = rest & recreation, outside of the combat zone) was a popular jacket among servicemen during the Vietnam War. Local tailors would custom make these jackets for servicemen to wear during their "paid vacations" and the jackets featured embroidered back & sleeve designs, typically featuring a map of Indochina and oriental dragons.
Our R & R T-Shirt recreates this classic garment in a high-quality tee. The back design is a recreation of an original Vietnam R & R jacket (click to view photos of two original R & R jackets: Original Jacket #1 and Original Jacket #2; pics will open in a new window). The t-shirt is constructed from a soft & durable 50% cotton/50% poly blend and features a map of Indochina along with the words "When I Die I'll Go To Heaven Because I've Spent My Time In Hell" silkscreened onto the back in vivid colors. A must for every Vietnam vet or anyone else who wishes to honor those who served during the Vietnam War. A US Wings exclusive! Color: black. Silkscreened in the USA.

Collector's Edition Alpha M-51 Field Jacket

click images to see detail (will open in a new window) |
This is an authentic reproduction of the M-51 field jacket. The M-51 (M-1951) was the first major revision of the field jacket since the WWII M-43 and is the predecessor to the current M-65 field jacket. Worn during the Korean War and during the early part of the Vietnam War, the M-51 will bring back memories to vets of that era.
The M-51 retains some of the characteristics of the M-43, but includes a zippered front under a snap-closed windflap (an improvement in both practicality & convenience over the M-43's button front). Features include a 100% washed cotton shell (and matching lining) for that authentic "vintage" look, four snap-closure front pockets, mid-waist drawstring, buttoned epaulets, heavy duty front zipper, double buttoned cuffs, drawstring adjustable bottom hem, and interior buttons for attaching a Vietnam-era liner (liner not included). An outstanding field jacket to wear as is, or adorn it with your own patches & unit insignias! Made by Alpha. Color: OD green.
Tip: Treating this jacket with Scotchgard will protect it from rain and snow!
Fit: Normal (click for info)

P-38 Can Opener
"The Army's Greatest Invention!" The P-38 is the classic folding military can opener developed during WWII and used through the Vietnam War. Besides opening ration tins, this handy device was used as a fingernail cleaner, letter/box opener, screwdriver, bottle opener, and toothpick (just to name a few of its many uses). It's clearly one of the handiest devices ever created! Soldiers often wore these around their necks with their dog tags and many veterans still carry one today. The P-38 is no longer issued due to the military's switch from canned rations to MREs, but it remains a popular item with veterans and civilians alike (ours are from the Vietnam era). Will open any can with a rim. Perfect for emergency use and is a must for every survival kit. Also great for camping, hiking, hunting or fishing. Made in the USA.
Free S&H if ordered with another (larger) item; if ordered alone, only one S&H fee will be charged if you order more than one.

"Three Servicemen Statue" Poster
After the controversy over the design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial ("The Wall"), the Three Servicemen Statue was created to complement the Memorial. Unveiled in 1984, it symbolized in a more traditional manner the spirit and heroism that many veterans thought was lacking in the design of The Wall. Wearing the uniforms and carrying the weapons of the Vietnam War era, the three servicemen embody heroism, strength and vulnerability, and display the "thousand yard stare" of combat soldiers. This poster measures 16" x 20" and is printed on heavy, glossy stock, suitable for framing. A US Wings exclusive! Shipped in a heavy-duty tube for protection. Made in the USA.
Poster © F.E. Hart/VVMF 1984, © 1988 Pittston Graphics.

Checkered plastic handle provides a non-slip grip. No sheath. Unissued condition. Comes with manufacturer's warranty. Made in the USA.

Welcome Home Collection
Our Welcome Home Collection is a tribute to America's Vietnam vets, who served their country with honor, bravery & distinction yet never received the recognition & appreciation they deserved. The expression "Welcome Home" has a special meaning among Vietnam Vets, who never received such a greeting upon their return. It's an expression used between fellow Vietnam Vets and its significance is intuitively understood. Our Welcome Home Collection is a labor of love from Sgt. David Hack (CEO of US Wings and a decorated Vietnam Vet himself), who believes it's never too late to right a wrong.
10% of sales go to the Veterans of the Vietnam War, Inc. & The Veterans Coalition for their United Veterans Beacon House, which provides transitional, safe housing for homeless veterans as they reintegrate into the society they willingly protected through their military service.

Poem: Vietnam Vet's Wife
Vietnam Vet's Wife by Sherry Carla Lucas
I am the wife of a Vietnam vet who served his country without regret.
I feel so lucky and oh so blessed because my vet, he made it back with all his arms and legs intact.
But what so many do not understand is just how much of him still remains in Vietnam.
The tortured memories that haunt his mind for all the brothers left behind.
I hold him close, I hold him tight, as he fights his demons every day and night.
I watch him struggle each and every day, and so to our Lord, you I pray.
Let him put this in his past, so he can live his life at last.
I love him more than you could know, as my respect for him continues to grow.
He served his country with honor and pride, but yet his scars he has to hide.
So open up your hearts and your minds, so peace at last he may find.
By Sherry Carla Lucas (January 3, 1959 - July 13, 2011)
